The island of Rhodes in the Dodecanese prefecture of Greece is nothing short of heaven on earth. This island paradise can offer a lot to almost any one. Whether you are looking for a place to study Greek language and culture, a place to relocate to, or somewhere to spend a wonderful vacation in, Rhodes is certain to be at the very top of your list.

However, you cannot simply just get on a yacht or plane and travel to Greece without first ensuring that all the proper documents such as passports and visas, are settled. So, here is a quick overview about Greece visa including details on who needs them, what are the documents needed to get them, what is the cost of visa fees, and several other important information.

Citizens of all European Union countries as well as those from the United States, Canada, Australian, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Israel, Australia and Japan can all come to vacation or study in Rhodes, Greece without the need for a Greek visa so long as the duration of their stay does not extend beyond 3 months. Anyone else who is not a citizen of the aforementioned countries would need to apply for and obtain a Greece visa in order to visit Rhodes or any other part of Greece for that matter.

A valid passport would of course be on top of the list when it comes to the required documents needed when applying for a Greek visa. Aside from that, you also need to submit an official health certificate, four color passport photos, an official certificate declaring that you have no previous criminal records, financial form declaration, a signed declaration letter from parent, student and school (for student visas) and a certified copy of birth certificate.

If you are planning to work in Rhodes however, you will need to get a different kind of visa and there may be more necessary documents needed of you before it is issued. Other requirements may be asked for and all these are submitted to the nearest Greek embassy or consulate.

It would take around a week or two for you to be issued a Greek visa. The cost of visa fee may range from $20 to $50 dollars depending on your nationality. The length of time that your Greece visa would be valid may also different.

Lindos is well established as one of the most picturesque and charming villages in all of Rhodes. This very traditional and well preserved Greek village is situated atop a rather high hill where its glimmering white walls bask in the Aegean sun.

The idea of being lost within the streets of Lindos is not at all as scary and unpalatable as it may first sound because of the quaint and beautiful sceneries that the streets of Lindos can afford. All throughout exploring the streets and by-ways of Lindos villages, you can see a profusion of pink bougainvilleas spilling from the terraces into the cobblestoned streets. Colorful doorways would instantly catch your eye especially since most of them are set against blank, white walls.

Everywhere you look there is something interesting to see and the entire village is pervaded by a sense of ancient beauty, peace and charm.

Aside from glancing up the beautiful infrastructure, you can also explore the inside of it in exchange for just 5 euros. The fee is not just for admittance though but you would also be served a refreshing drink so you can relax while view this piece of architectural art.

It is not just an architectural masterpiece though, but a beauty of mechanism and engineering as well. It was built way back in 1851, more than a century ago for sure, after a terrible earthquake shook the island and Rhodes had to rebuild itself anew again. It also offers a wonderful view of the surroundings so be sure to stop by and visit the clock tower in Orfeos street when in Rhodes.

Instead of sand, you are most likely to find pebbles covering miles after miles of shore.

Although not as fine as sand, pebbles however are very smooth and cool which makes stepping on them with bare feet a cooling relief to the feet of swimmers and beach combers in Rhodes. They are also very glossy and shiny, not to mention display a wide array of colors, something sand cannot possible compete with since they are either only white, brown or gray.

You can find pebble beaches in Rhodes such as this one all over the island. Other offer a wonderful fishing experience, others are popular bathing places, some are flocked by sunbathers, while others are great for birdwatching.

Although a beach offers a much more spectacular scenery and the possibility of more recreational activities compared to a swimming pool, it still lacks certain amenities which swimmers may enjoy. One of these amenities which a beach cannot have and which many swimmers love is a diving board.

But as we all know, resourcefulness and ingenuity are the fruits of necessity. The need for a diving board has lead some very ingenious people to create a multilevel diving board right in the middle of a beach in beautiful Rhodes, Greece.

As you can see, a multilevel diving board or platform of sorts was constructed right in the middle of a beach in Rhodes so that swimmers can enjoy the exciting sensation of diving into the vivid blue vastness of the Aegean Sea. Kids and even adults who are unsure if they are comfortable diving can try jumping of the lower diving board and they can afterwards progress to the two higher ones.

This beach / pool diving board is also very safe and stable so swimmers need not worry that a few waves would topple it down. So now, you can enjoy the beauty of the sea in Rhodes and still have a perfect diving board to help you explore it with a splash!

While touring the antiquated and old-world streets and by-ways of the village of Lindos, Rhodes Town or some other village in Rhodes, you might happen to come across a few cafés and coffeehouses here and there. Of course, their number cannot be compared to those in France for instance where it seems like there is a café in every street in the country. However, the few cafés in Rhodes are very interesting and inviting because of the comfort and pleasing entrées that they serve.

Aside from coffee and tea, many Rhodian cafés also serve delicious Greek snacks and meals. They offer a refreshing and relaxed stop point for visitors touring the island who may need a place to sit for a while, chat with locals and sip coffee.

So the next time you happen to be in Rhodes and see a café, step inside for a while and receive more than just a cup of coffee but a whole barrel full of stories and songs from hospitable locals.

These beaches of Rhodes are valued quite highly because of the clean waters and air which one can barely experience anywhere else in the planet.
