However, you cannot simply just get on a yacht or plane and travel to Greece without first ensuring that all the proper documents such as passports and visas, are settled. So, here is a quick overview about Greece visa including details on who needs them, what are the documents needed to get them, what is the cost of visa fees, and several other important information.

Citizens of all European Union countries as well as those from the United States, Canada, Australian, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Israel, Australia and Japan can all come to vacation or study in Rhodes, Greece without the need for a Greek visa so long as the duration of their stay does not extend beyond 3 months. Anyone else who is not a citizen of the aforementioned countries would need to apply for and obtain a Greece visa in order to visit Rhodes or any other part of Greece for that matter.

A valid passport would of course be on top of the list when it comes to the required documents needed when applying for a Greek visa. Aside from that, you also need to submit an official health certificate, four color passport photos, an official certificate declaring that you have no previous criminal records, financial form declaration, a signed declaration letter from parent, student and school (for student visas) and a certified copy of birth certificate.

If you are planning to work in Rhodes however, you will need to get a different kind of visa and there may be more necessary documents needed of you before it is issued. Other requirements may be asked for and all these are submitted to the nearest Greek embassy or consulate.

It would take around a week or two for you to be issued a Greek visa. The cost of visa fee may range from $20 to $50 dollars depending on your nationality. The length of time that your Greece visa would be valid may also different.
