Pebble Beaches

Unlike other tourist destinations such as the Bahamas or Baja California that boast of fine, powdery beaches, the island of Rhodes in Greece is blessed with a different kind of shore. Instead of sand, you are most likely to find pebbles covering miles after miles of shore.

Although not as fine as sand, pebbles however are very smooth and cool which makes stepping on them with bare feet a cooling relief to the feet of swimmers and beach combers in Rhodes. They are also very glossy and shiny, not to mention display a wide array of colors, something sand cannot possible compete with since they are either only white, brown or gray.

You can find pebble beaches in Rhodes such as this one all over the island. Other offer a wonderful fishing experience, others are popular bathing places, some are flocked by sunbathers, while others are great for birdwatching.
