Rhodes Harbor

The Harbor of Rhodes, Greece is probably the most well-visited attraction that the entire island has to offer. It is located at the northernmost portion of Rhodes and is within the boundaries of the capital City of Rhodes.

The Rhodes Harbor was well known throughout the ancient world as the site for one of the ancient world’s wonders, the gigantic Colossus of Rhodes. After a terrible earthquake however, the 107 fee high steel and tin colossus was brought to its knees and was left untouched for more than 800 years lying near the harbor and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Although its impressive guardian was destroyed, the Rhodes Harbor continued to serve its purpose as a major trading infrastructure located between mainland Greece and Asia.
